Nyan Devices' flagship wireless security toolkit for BLE and 2.4GHz Networks

What is nyanBOX?

nyanBOX is a compact ESP32 Wroom32U toolkit for wireless security. Scan, analyze, and spoof RF, Wi-Fi, and BLE protocols, all from an intuitive menu-driven interface. No complex commands or coding required. Designed for ease of use while exploring wireless communication in a responsible, educational manner.

Authorized testing only. nyanBOX is an educational security research and testing toolkit. Use it only on networks and devices you own or have permission to test, and stay within applicable law. See our legal disclaimer for details.

WiFi Tools

Comprehensive WiFi analysis and testing suite with menu-driven interface.

  • WiFi Scanner: Detects nearby WiFi access points with full client detection. View connected clients per network, monitor signal strength and packet activity, and send targeted deauthentication to clients you're authorized to test to study reconnection behavior.
  • Channel Analyzer: Visualizes WiFi congestion across all channels with a real-time bar chart to identify the best channel for your network
  • Camera Detector: Passively scans nearby WiFi traffic to detect and identify wireless security cameras. Fingerprints devices by MAC OUI and frame heuristics to identify Ring, Blink, Nest, Arlo, Wyze, Reolink, Eufy, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, and 20+ more camera brands without transmitting a single packet. Displays the camera's MAC address, SSID, signal strength, and confidence level. Lock onto a detected camera and use the signal strength meter to physically locate it.
  • Camera Deauther: Identifies wireless security cameras by OUI fingerprinting and frame heuristics (Ring, Blink, Nest, Arlo, Wyze, Reolink, Eufy, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, and 20+ more). Lock onto a camera you own or are authorized to test to evaluate how well it detects, alerts on, and recovers from deauthentication, so you can verify your setup fails safely.
  • WiFi Deauther: Educational tool for testing network security with deauthentication frames on authorized networks
  • Deauth Scanner: Monitors and analyzes WiFi deauthentication frames in real-time. Displays the source MAC, channel, and live RSSI of the deauthing transmitter. Use it to physically locate the source of deauthentication activity
  • Packet Monitor: Passive 802.11 packet capture in promiscuous mode with channel hopping, live packet counters by type, and CSV export over Serial.
  • Beacon Spam: Broadcasts multiple decoy SSIDs (clone, custom, or random) to test how clients handle network discovery in congested RF environments
  • Evil Portal: Creates a captive portal with multiple realistic templates (Google, Facebook, Apple ID, Microsoft, and Xfinity) for authorized security-awareness testing. Auto-scans nearby networks for SSID matching to demonstrate how phishing portals work and help teams learn to recognize them.
  • Pineapple Detector: Detect and identify nearby Pineapple devices
  • Pwnagotchi Detector: Detects nearby Pwnagotchi devices and displays their information
  • Pwnagotchi Spam: Broadcasts decoy Pwnagotchi beacon frames with randomized identities to test detection and handling

Bluetooth (BLE)

Advanced Bluetooth Low Energy toolkit for device analysis and protocol testing.

  • Real-time Device Locator: All BLE-based detectors include a locate mode with signal strength visualization for precise device tracking
  • BLE Scanner: Detects nearby BLE devices
  • BLE Inspector: Decodes raw BLE advertising packets from nearby devices, displaying service UUIDs, manufacturer data, TX power, flags, and raw payloads
  • nyanBOX Detector: Discovers nearby nyanBOX devices with level, version, and signal strength
  • Flipper Scanner: Detects nearby Flipper Zero devices
  • Axon Detector: Detects nearby Axon devices (body cameras, tasers, and other law enforcement equipment)
  • Meshtastic Detector: Detects nearby devices running Meshtastic firmware
  • MeshCore Detector: Detects nearby devices running MeshCore firmware
  • Skimmer Detector: Detects HC-03, HC-05, and HC-06 Bluetooth modules commonly used in credit card skimming devices
  • AirTag Detector: Scans for and identifies nearby Apple AirTag devices
  • AirTag Spoofer: Clones and rebroadcasts AirTag advertisements, selectively or in bulk, to test FindMy protocol behavior and the accuracy of tracker-detection systems.
  • FindMy Beeper: Scans for Apple FindMy devices like AirTags, AirPods, and other FindMy accessories and triggers their built-in speaker, useful for locating your own items or surfacing unknown trackers during a sweep. Use Beep Selected to target a specific device or Beep All to sweep every FindMy device in range.
  • HID Beeper: Scans for HID access-control readers advertising over Bluetooth (the BLE radios added to modern readers for remote management), and lists in-range units with signal strength. Beep Selected triggers a reader's beeper to confirm identification; Availability Test exercises a reader's BLE interface under load to study its resilience during authorized security testing.
  • SmartTag Detector: Scans for and identifies nearby Samsung SmartTag devices
  • Tile Detector: Scans for and identifies nearby Tile Tracker devices
  • KARR Detector: Scans for nearby KARR and SWDS RF anti-theft systems, a device class affected by a publicly documented shared-key vulnerability. Displays device presence and signal strength, with a check mode to confirm whether a unit is patched or still vulnerable and a locate mode to pinpoint it.
  • RayBan Detector: Scans for and identifies nearby RayBan Meta smart glasses
  • iBeacon Detector: Scans for and decodes Apple iBeacon BLE advertisements in real time. iBeacons are deployed in stores, airports, malls, and stadiums to track your movement and behavior.
  • iBeacon Spoofer: Detects, clones, and rebroadcasts iBeacon advertisements, individually or all at once. Inject duplicate beacon IDs into a test environment to assess the integrity of beacon-based positioning, indoor tracking, and location analytics.
  • BLE Spammer: Broadcasts BLE advertisement packets for testing
  • Swift Pair: Broadcasts Microsoft Swift Pair advertisements to test how Windows handles pairing notifications
  • Sour Apple: Mimics Apple Bluetooth signals like AirPods pairing pop-ups to test iOS proximity-pairing behavior
  • Sour Droid: Broadcasts Google FastPair and Samsung EasySetup pairing advertisements across hundreds of device models to test how Android and Samsung devices handle pairing-notification traffic
  • BLE Spoofer: Clones and rebroadcasts BLE advertisements with full 1:1 replication of MAC address, name, advertising data, scan response, and connectable state to test device-identification and pairing logic.

RF Analysis

2.4GHz spectrum analysis and signal processing tools for protocol research.

  • Drone Detector: Detects nearby drones broadcasting RemoteID via WiFi and BLE. Displays drone identification, GPS location, altitude, speed, operator information, and flight status. Features a locate mode with real-time RSSI signal strength meter to help pinpoint drone positions.
