The nyanBOX is intended solely for educational, research, testing, and personal development purposes. It is designed to make wireless concepts accessible and to help users understand, evaluate, and harden the security of equipment they own or are authorized to assess.

Nyan Devices does not condone or accept responsibility for any unauthorized, unlawful, or improper use of this device.

Compliance With Laws & Regulations

Users are required to follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, operating only on permitted frequencies and within legally allowed transmission power levels.

Only use these tools on networks, devices, and systems that you own or have explicit permission to test. Laws governing wireless transmission, interception, and testing vary by jurisdiction; it is your responsibility to know and obey the rules that apply to you.

Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability

Any misuse of the nyanBOX is entirely at the user's own risk. By using this device, you acknowledge and agree that Nyan Devices, its developers, and its affiliates are not liable for any damages, claims, actions, losses, or consequences arising from your use or misuse of the product.

You agree to use the nyanBOX responsibly and agree to hold Nyan Devices harmless from all liability related to its operation.

Hardware & Charging Safety

For safety, charge with a standard 5V USB source only. The device is not USB-PD compatible, and high-voltage PD chargers can damage it.

Firmware License

nyanBOX firmware versions released after v4.27.11 are proprietary software. © 2026 Nyan Devices LLC. All rights reserved. Versions up to and including v4.27.11 remain available under the license they were originally released with.

By downloading, installing, or using nyanBOX firmware released after v4.27.11, you agree to the following terms:

• Permitted use: You may install and use the firmware only on genuine nyanBOX devices.
• No redistribution: You may not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, or host the firmware, in whole or in part, via any medium, without prior written permission from Nyan Devices.
• No modification: You may not modify, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the firmware, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Ownership: The firmware is licensed, not sold. Nyan Devices retains all rights, title, and interest in the firmware.
• No warranty: The firmware is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability terms above also apply to the firmware.

Unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of the firmware is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of this license.
